These Terms govern your use of the Meteredo mobile application. They're written in plain language wherever possible — please read them before creating an account.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using Meteredo, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not create an account or use the app.

2. Accounts

Each person should maintain a single Meteredo account. When you register, you agree to provide accurate information — your full name, email address, phone number, and a password — and to keep that information up to date.

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential, including any device-level biometric (fingerprint or face) unlock you enable for the app.
  • If you sign in with Google, you authorise Meteredo to receive basic profile information from your Google account for authentication purposes.
  • Notify us promptly at mubashir.support@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

3. User Responsibilities

Meteredo is a self-reporting tool: the meter readings and other figures you record are entered by you, either manually or with AI assistance. You are responsible for:

  • Entering meter, reading, and bill information accurately for your own records — Meteredo is not liable for decisions you make based on inaccurate self-entered or AI-predicted data.
  • Keeping your device's operating system and app permissions (camera, photos, notifications) in good working order so the app functions as intended.
  • Using the family sharing feature responsibly — only inviting people you trust with visibility into your household's meters, readings, and bills.

4. Acceptable Use

When using Meteredo, you agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law.
  • Attempt to breach, probe, or circumvent the security of our backend systems, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, or any connected API.
  • Upload unlawful, abusive, or harmful image content through the camera or gallery picker.
  • Impersonate another household or family member, or gain access to a family group you have not been legitimately invited to.

5. Family Sharing Terms

Sharing is visibility, not identity. Anyone who joins your family group using your invite code will be able to see and edit the meters, readings, and bills associated with that family.

Family sharing works as follows:

  • Creating a family group generates a unique invite code. Sharing that code with someone allows them to join and see your household's shared data.
  • All family members can view, add, and edit shared meters, readings, and bills.
  • Only the family owner (the member who created the group) can delete meters, readings, or bills.
  • Each account can belong to only one family group at a time.
  • You are solely responsible for who you invite into your family group.

Automatic ownership hand-off is not currently available if a family owner leaves the group or deletes their account. If you are a family owner and need to transfer ownership or wind down the group, please contact support in advance so we can help coordinate it manually.

6. Subscriptions & Premium Features

Meteredo currently has no paid subscription, premium tier, or in-app purchase of any kind. Every feature described on this website and in the app is free to use. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we will provide reasonable advance notice and update these Terms accordingly before any charges apply.

7. AI-Generated Content

Meteredo's camera-based reading capture uses a third-party AI model (Google's Gemini) to predict the digits shown on your meter from a photo you capture and crop. This predicted value is shown to you for review, and you may confirm it or correct it manually before it is saved.

Always double-check AI predictions. Meteredo is not liable for inaccuracies in an AI-predicted reading that is saved without being reviewed or corrected.

8. Restrictions

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or scrape the app or its backend services, or attempt to access Firebase, Cloudinary, or any connected AI endpoint outside of the app's normal, intended use. You may not resell, sublicense, or white-label Meteredo without our prior written consent.

9. Availability

Meteredo depends on third-party infrastructure — Firebase (Google Cloud), Cloudinary, and Google's Generative AI service — and requires an active internet connection to load and save your data. We provide the service on a best-effort basis and do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or a specific uptime commitment. Some features, including the bill listing screen, are still evolving and may change before general release.

10. Termination

You may stop using Meteredo at any time. If you would like your account and associated data permanently deleted, visit our Delete Account page to submit a request. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or otherwise misuse the service.

11. Disclaimer

Meteredo, including any AI-predicted meter readings, is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Meteredo is a personal tracking tool built to help you monitor your own electricity usage — it is not a certified metering or billing authority, and it should not be treated as an official substitute for the bill issued by your electricity provider.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Meteredo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including reliance on self-entered or AI-predicted readings, or from outages of third-party services such as Firebase, Cloudinary, or Google's Generative AI.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Meteredo evolves. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to mubashir.support@gmail.com, or through our Contact Support page.
